1965

24 - 25 June 1965: "M" Company embarked aboard the USS Taladega APA-208.

26 - 30 June : Enroute to the Republic of Vietnam. Warning order received alerting the SLF to prepare to land in Qui Nhon, Republic of Vietnam.

1 - 8 July : Operations ashore, Defense of Military Complex, Qui Nhon, RVN.

1 July : "M" Company landed by LCVP-5 at 17:00H

8 July : Reembarked aboard original shipping, and held as reserve until 20 July 1965.

20 July - 18 August : The Task Group got underway for Pratas Island, Subic Bay Phiippine Islands, and Hong Kong before returning to Chu Lai, RVN for participation in Operation Starlite on 18 August.

18 August : Op STARLITE

25 - 31 August : The Task Group got underway Subic Bay Phiippine Islands, returning to Chu Lai, RVN on 31 August.

1 September : 3d Battlion, 7th Marines placed under OPCON of the 3rd Marine Division FMF.

7 - 10 September: Op PIRANHA

10 September: Mike Company suffers it's first KIA, LCpl. Glen E. King

16 - 24 October: Op RHINO

3 - 5 November : Op BLACK FERRET

22 - 24 November : Relief Operation of Trach Tri Village Complex Quang Ngai Province.
